How much does a website actually cost?
Prices for websites in South Africa range from a few hundred rand for a DIY template to well over R100,000 for a large custom build. Here's what actually moves that number, and what a fixed, no-surprises price looks like.
The same word, very different projects.
“Website” can mean a single page or a full online store. These are the factors that actually determine cost.
Number of pages
A single landing page costs far less than a multi-page site with services, portfolio, and blog sections.
Custom design vs template
A site designed around your brand takes more work than a generic template, but looks and converts better.
E-commerce or bookings
Online stores and booking systems add real complexity — payment gateways, inventory, and checkout flows all take time.
Content & copywriting
Writing your own copy keeps costs down. Need help finding the right words? That's extra time, and worth budgeting for.

Cost FAQ
Why do website prices vary so much?
A basic one-page site and a full e-commerce build solve very different problems, so the price gap is real — it reflects design time, functionality, and ongoing support, not just a random markup.
Is a cheap website worth it?
A very low-cost site is usually a template with minimal customisation and no real SEO structure. It can work as a stopgap, but it rarely holds up as your business grows.
Does the price include hosting?
Not in the once-off packages below — hosting is billed separately or bundled into the monthly Care Plan, whichever suits your budget.
What if my project doesn't fit a package?
Most projects fit neatly into Starter, Business, or Growth. If yours doesn't, get in touch and I'll put together a custom quote.
